Stylish, robust – and something rather different!
Once again our Con-Pearl® lightweight plastic board sheets impressed a student so much that she used it to produce a stool for an assignment.
A stable, weather-proof stool suitable for industrial manufacture at this year’s documenta in Kassel, were the challenges Lisa Olbrich faced in her second semester.
“I was looking for a material which would meet all requirements and found Con-Pearl®,” stated Lisa Olbrich.
Its lightweight together with high stability and the individuality of our Con-Pearl® boards, impressed the young student. “In order to show that every visual appearance and surface feel is possible with this material, I coated my model with a matt black 3D carbon film”, explained Ms. Olbrich further.
Its lightweight means that it can be carried like a carrycase when disassembled. It consists of three parts: the legs, a base which is used as an attachment to the stool legs and a sitting area which also serves as the outside of the carrycase.
The student from Kassel presented her work to us and impressed our Corporate Development Head: “What a super idea to design a foldable and portable stool! With a few minor changes the stool can be incorporated into our manufacture”, he explained. Together we are working on two different prototypes which can be used in a multitude of ways. The result can be seen for itself.
